Thrifted Fits for our school's favourite holiday....Homecoming
It’s that time of the year again, the Queen's holiday we all wait for… Homecoming! Homecoming is more than just a weekend at most schools; it's a tradition and a celebration where we showcase our pride for attending our schools. Students, alumni and the community of Kingston all come together, decked out in our tricolour gear, to celebrate why Queens is so special.

Small Choices, Big Impact!
This year, we want to add a sustainable spin on it by utilizing the various thrift and second-hand stores found throughout Kingston. Instead of buying brand-new outfits that might only get worn once, we’re encouraging students to thrift, upcycle, and even swap their Homecoming looks. From vintage Queen’s sweaters to creative DIY tricolour fits, there are endless ways to show your school spirit sustainably. Our dream is to create a space where students can get inspiration from second-hand stuff, share their own styles, and even gather to exchange or borrow.
Outfit Inspo Pics!
Why thrift?
Let’s be honest, Homecoming can be a big weekend for outfits that will probably only see the light of day once; even some of us, as students, can admit to purchasing a new outfit each year as a “tradition.” But, if we were to choose secondhand pieces, not only would we, as university students, save money, but we would also become a part of a bigger movement to decrease the amount of fast fashion being overconsumed. Thrifting is the opposite, as it keeps clothes out of landfills, saves resources, and gives each item a new life. And when you mix that with Queen’s school spirit? You get something that’s not only stylish but meaningful
