What inspired your Halloween outfit? (Why Team Rocket)

Initially, we were trying to do a costume with our whole house, and we settled on the theme of Pokémon, but due to the lack of coordination, people decided to do their own costumes. Trevor and I, however, decided to stick with it and do Team Rocket as James and Jessie, then Amélie asked to join our costume, so we got a Meowth as well.

What are your "go-to" materials?

I mainly use thrifted materials and dollar store materials. I rarely order stuff (but sometimes I have to like the hair spray). I like going thrifting for my costumes because it forces me to get creative, and the dollar store has small things I use to modify my costumes

When did you start creating your own costume?

Since 2022, I started making my own costume, but it depends on how much time I have; some years I can't do much, but some years I can put more effort into making my costume.

What was the most challenging part of making your costume?

My costume was fairly easy, just painted and cut a shirt and paired it with some stuff I found when thrifting. The hardest part was figuring out Amélie's top because she decided to use 3 carpets for it (fun fact: Amelie used her carpets as a blanket because her house was too cold). We had issues getting the shoulders to look natural and keeping the whole thing together overall.

Do you make costumes for others?

I usually don't have the time to make a whole costume for others, but I enjoy making my costume with others or giving others a helping hand when they are making their outfit.
